IJN was part of the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital until 1st August 1992 when we were corporatised and established as a separate and specialist entity committed to delivering the most advanced standards in cardiovascular and thoracic medicine for adult and paediatric heart patients. We have earned our reputation as a centre of excellence for cardiac care from having treated well over a million patients; helping save many lives in the process.
IJN has since gained wider recognition as the leading Cardiovascular and Thoracic Health Centre in the region as the rising number of referrals for complicated and demanding cases and visits from foreign cardiologists so eloquently testifies. Our expansion has been so remarkable; we achieved our goal of being financially self-sustaining within a year of operations.
Today we are an integrated one-stop centre offering comprehensive cardiac services under one roof. We have an experienced and committed team of specialist cardiologist, surgeons, anaesthesiologists, paramedics and clinical support staff passionate about seeking new and better ways to provide our services. They are empowered to deliver the highest standards of clinical excellence following upon policy of investment in the latest technology that can handle even the most complicated cases.
To continue to be the leading heart institution in the region, we actively support training, research and development activities that will be applied to enhance our standards of care. And with our collaborations with leading international medical establishments such as the UK's Papworth Hospital and the Herz-und in Germany we are able to introduce new clinical techniques without delay. We have no doubt as a premier heart centre, we will continue to lead the way and break new ground in the future.
